Jahvon Quinerly and his mom respond on Twitter to NCAA denying his eligibility waiver
On Monday, Alabama announced that the NCAA had denied the school’s appeal for former 5-star Villanova PG Jahvon Quinerly for this season.
Now, Quinerly will have to sit out, and the Crimson Tide weren’t happy about it. AD Greg Byrne and coach Nate Oats issued a joint statement blasting the decision.
Byrne and Oats weren’t the only ones to comment on the NCAA ruling. Quinerly’s mom took to Twitter to express her displeasure:
@RealJahvonQ thought we had a chance for a min, hoping our story would be heard. But we both knew it was bs. Shit,The NCAA scours through my bank statements dated back to 2015 from before I met Book & questions $10 Venmo transactions why would we ever think this could go our way

Quinerly tried to keep his mom’s spirits high, saying they’re going to be good moving forward:
You are the strongest woman ever!!! You never did any wrong. We’re gonna be good I promise. https://t.co/1HEmAJzrwh

There don’t seem to be any other options available for this season, so we’ll have to wait until the 2020-21 season to see what Quinerly brings to the Tide.
