Alabama has now lost two support staff members this week to the National Football League.

As reported previously, special teams analyst Brendan Farrell is leaving Tuscaloosa for the Miami Dolphins, now offensive analyst Jake Peetz is expected to leave Nick Saban’s staff for the Carolina Panthers. News of his move was first reported by Albert Breer of the MMQB.

“Peetz was very involved in Nick Saban’s implementation of RPOs to highlight Tua Tagovailoa’s skill set. So Ron Rivera brings a young guy with fresh ideas in,” Breer wrote in a followup to the news of Peetz departure from Alabama.

The new Carolina assistant will now have an opportunity to work with former Alabama rival, Cam Newton.

Peetz was hired by Alabama last March after serving the previous three seasons with the Oakland Raiders. This wasn’t Peetz’s first stop in Tuscaloosa, as he previously served as an analyst with the Crimson Tide back in for the 2014 season. While he has now made two stops in Tuscaloosa, the majority of Peetz’s coaching career has been spent in the NFL.
