Former Alabama RB Josh Jacobs will be wearing a new number with the Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders drafted Jacobs in the first round Thursday night as the top RB in the NFL Draft at No. 24 overall, and he’s changing his number.

Jacobs wore No. 8 in Tuscaloosa, but he’ll be wearing No. 28 for the Raiders. He shared the news on Twitter Saturday:

Jacobs is one of five Alabama players who have been drafted through the first three rounds. Like Jacobs, DL Quinnen Williams and OL Jonah Williams were both first-round picks. TE Irv Smith was a second round pick, and fellow Tide RB Damien Harris was a third round pick.

Jacobs has all the tools necessary to be an every-down NFL back who can excel in Jon Gruden’s offense.
