Kalen DeBoer emphasizes importance of Alabama’s ‘response’ in wake of Vandy loss
Kalen DeBoer has a tough challenge ahead as Alabama looks to rebound from a shocking loss to Vanderbilt on Saturday night.
The Crimson Tide were favored by more than 3 touchdowns on the road in Nasvhille, but it was the Commodores who came away with a 40-35 win.
In his postgame press conference, DeBoer spoke about how important it will be for his team to respond well to this adversity in the coming weeks.
“There’s some things we’re going to look back on tomorrow and be really, really frustrated about,” DeBoer said. “We don’t like talking about ‘what ifs’ and that’s going to be the situation we’re going to be dealing with tomorrow. But the guys in the locker room, we just talked about ‘there’s only one option. Let’s move forward, let’s get back to work.’
“I feel we’ve got a great football team. We weren’t at our best today and we’re going to find out really how much we care about each other and what it looks like moving forward. We’ve been tested in different ways a lot of the games this season and this is a different type of test for us in our response.”
Here’s video of DeBoer’s comments:

This was Alabama’s first loss to Vanderbilt since 1984. The Commodores never led an Alabama team during the Nick Saban era.
Alabama will face South Carolina at home next weekend.
