Kalen DeBoer's staff sends clear message to Alabama players about Week 6 game
Kalen DeBoer’s staff is looking to make sure Alabama players move on from the thrilling Week 5 win over Georgia.
Multiple reporters noted that rodent traps are out in the halls of the Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility.
Saw a couple of these at the Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility today.

Now ranked No. 1 in the AP Top 25, Alabama will hit the road in Week 6. UA heads to Nashville to take on Vanderbilt Saturday afternoon in Nashville. DeBoer’s staff clearly worries about the matchup being a potential “trap game” if Alabama players are a bit hungover from the joy of the Georgia victory.
Vanderbilt is off to a 2-2 start. Clark Lea’s team turned heads in Week 1, taking down Virginia Tech 34-27 in overtime. The Commodores played overtime again in Week 4, dropping a 30-27 heartbreaker on the road to a top-10 Mizzou squad.
Vandy is on a 10-game SEC losing streak. After back-to-back wins over Kentucky and Florida in November 2022, the Commodores dropped their ’22 season finale to Tennessee. Vanderbilt went 0-8 in SEC play in 2023. The Mizzou loss made it 10 in a row.
Alabama is 60-19-4 all-time against Vanderbilt, and has won the last 12 meetings played over 1994-2022. As expected, the Tide is expected to make it 13 in a row. ESPN’s FPI gives UA a 92.1% chance of winning in Nashville. UA is a 23.5-point favorite at FanDuel Sportsbook.
Best stop worrying about this Tennessee team and get your mind where it should be. If Deboer’s defense thinks they are going to get away with all that PI, they have another thing coming. Cases of mustard are being ordered now. You have been warned.
On second thought, we are actually pretty frightened about playing UGA & Bama and I hope the refs continue not calling PI because that’s the only chance we will have. We are not a disciplined team and cannot focus which is what you need to be elite and we are not there. We are currently the biggest disappointment in the SEC and it shows. We should consider transferring to the ACC where we would be mid tier but it’s better than being a bottom dweller.
LOL LOL LOL you are hilarious girl……….no knowledge of football, but for an 8th grader, you are funny……..lol lol
If Alabama thinks they are going to PI again and you go to the game, best wear a yellow shirt and a yellow hard hat.
Maybe your Vils might actually score in the 2nd half of the game this year. 34-20
1,2,1,2 are your current recruiting classes. Tennessee’s is 22,17,10,14. If you don’t win 56-10, you choked. We are going to snap your teenage punk in two.
Congrats on your big win goatsaban…
Tell the truth. You like the sight of my VOLS from up underneath?
Don’t be too sad, you can visit Busch Gardens during your Reliaquest Bowl trip.
I actually thought about Vanderbilt and couple of AAC teams joining the ACC instead of teams from out west but Vanderbilt would be my first choice.
will Alabama fans outnumber the Vandy faithful in Nashville on Saturday? Ticket prices on secondary mkt were already over like $125
I am quite sure like…60/40 Tide fans will outnumber Vandy fans. Seems the Vandy fans are hanging on this year now that their team is..well..kind of exciting to watch.
I think Pavia presents plenty problems, and believe Vandy will hang around till halftime, or sometime in the 3rd before Milroe takes over and Alabama wins by 3 TDs.
Pretty much what I am thinking as well, GeauxTigers8. I’m expecting us to be sluggish for a bit (normal for the game after a huge game) and Vandy will hang around for a while, but eventually our talent and depth wear the ‘Dores down and we pull away late. Of course DeBoer and staff are warning us away from that with the rat traps, along with not looking ahead to Mizzou.
UT fans are funny & weird, wow.
I’m pretty certain at least 3 of these Vol fans are Greg White alt accounts. They all have this bizarrely irrational goofiness that makes them suspicious.
DeBoer is selling Vanderbilt as a trap game? Really?
LMAO!
