You don’t have to wait until Saturday’s “College GameDay” to get Kirk Herbstreit’s prediction for the Alabama-Miami game.
Herbstreit discussed the game on the latest edition of “The ESPN College Football Podcast” with Matt Barrie. Herbstreit likes the Crimson Tide to win but isn’t expecting a blowout.
“New quarterback in Bryce Young, you got new running backs, a lot of new receivers,” Herbstreit said of UA. “‘Bama is going to be relying early on old-school ‘Bama —dominant defense and playing smart on offense. I think because of that, I don’t see a blowout. I think (quarterback) D’Eriq King and Miami can hang around, and I think they can be competitive. I think ‘Bama wins the game, but I think the ‘Canes can compete.”
Barrie chimed in on the 18.5-point spread.
“I think that is just laughable for Week 1 with all the points that you just brought up,” Barrie said to Herbstreit.
We’ll see Saturday what the correct bet was for the game in Atlanta.
