Nate Oats has suspended a veteran forward, he announced Friday.

Nick Pringle has been suspended indefinitely, Oats said. It is an in-house suspension and one that Oats said he hopes will come to an end shortly.

“(Pringle) is suspended indefinitely right now for conduct detrimental to the team,” Oats said during his press conference on Friday. “Nothing serious, off the court or anything. Just in-house, a standard we want our guys to uphold and he wasn’t upholding it. I still love Nick, hopefully he’ll get himself figured out and be back with the team shortly.”

One of Alabama’s three returning players, Pringle has had a rocky start to the season. He started in Alabama’s first 6 games of the season, but was benched on Tuesday against Clemson. He’s averaged 6 points and 4.4 rebounds to begin the season, and Oats is looking for him to step things up defensively.

Alabama is 5-2 on the season after suffering losses to Ohio State and Clemson. The Tide are looking to get back in the win column next week as they take on Arkansas State before a huge test against No. 1 Purdue.
