Nick Saban was involved in the most unusual moment of SEC spring meetings in Destin, Florida. While he was having lunch, a young fan approached him (after sneaking past a sign telling visitors not to cross that point) and offered him $5,000 to retire or come back to LSU.

The fan was then escorted out of the building, but Saban has a good sense of humor about the incident.

As you can see below, he discussed the interaction on Thursday and praised Brian Kelly and what he’ll be able to accomplish at LSU:

“He made an offer for me to retire or come back to LSU,” Saban said. “But I think LSU has a good coach and they have a lot of good players. We’ve had a lot of really competitive games with them and I’m sure it’ll be no different in the future when it comes to competition with LSU.”

Alabama heads to Baton Rouge on Saturday, Nov. 5, after an off week. We’ll see if Brian Kelly and the Tigers can pull off an upset in Death Valley or if Saban and the Crimson Tide look like the preseason national championship favorite many expect them to look like in 2022. It should be a fun game either way.
