Just a sophomore, Bryce Young is Alabama’s unquestioned leader on offense. He’s poised and very talented at the helm for the Tide’s offense.

Young answered Nick Saban’s challenge this week, too, as Saban said he challenged his team, calling it a “judgement day.” Young finished 21-of-23 for 270 yards and 5 touchdowns against New Mexico State.

“I really challenged the team this week,” Saban said after Alabama’s win over New Mexico State. “I told them it was kind of judgment day for us. We’ve been a little bit inconsistent. We don’t look at the scoreboard, it shouldn’t affect how we play. The opponent is faceless, it’s all about how we play. Everybody’s gotta put the team first, buy into the principles and values of the organization, be positive and supportive of each other and be responsible and accountable to do your job and support other people and challenge them to do their job. I thought that energy and enthusiasm and sense of urgency was really good out there today, and I think Bryce kind of led the charge on that.”

Young is a top 3 Heisman Trophy candidate right now, and if he keeps putting up these kinds of numbers — and the Tide keep winning, Young may just hoist the Heisman at the end of the season.
