Alabama is no longer undefeated after losing to LSU on Saturday night 46-41.

That’s a tough result for Crimson Tide fans to swallow but Nick Saban was quick to point out that Alabama’s season is not done.

Saban made his popular, “We don’t want to waste a failure” comment before noting that, “We don’t control our destiny but we have to finish the season the right way and see where we are at,” during his opening statement.

Here were the highlights of Saban’s comments during his LSU postgame press conference.

on Alabama offense:

“We couldn’t run the ball very well… we had pressure in the pocket, we just didn’t execute… We didn’t have balance. We make big plays, which is great but we have to have balance… Add turnovers on top of it and we put ourselves in a hole.”

on Alabama’s defense:

“The only disappointment is we want people to do their job… we didn’t cover correctly, had a few busts that were critical. We played six DBs a lot in the game to adjust and I think we did but we made mistakes that gave theme plays. You have to give them credit, their quarterback is a really good player.”

on the decision to go for it late in 1st half:

“I wish we would have taken a knee. We had two timeouts, trying to get a chunk play, we trusted the QB to make a good decision. They were in zone, and made a play on the ball. Had I known what would have happened, I would definitely knee it… That was a mistake on our part and I talk the blame for that.”

on Tua and his health in the game:

“I think he was 100 percent but missing time, missing some practice, I think he played well, made plays in the game. His mobility was not at 100 percent… maybe he couldn’t run 100 percent, maybe 90 percent… The docs cleared him to play, he didn’t have any issues, he said he could play in the game and he played in the game and I thought he was a warrior in the game… I’m proud with the way he played in the game.”
