Nick Saban says Joe Girardi will attend next weekend's Alabama-LSU game
Even after leading his team to the American League Championship Series this year, the New York Yankees and manager Joe Girardi have parted ways after 10 seasons.
Now that the longtime manager has a bit more time on his hands before he decides on his next career move, he’s going to take in some college football next weekend.
On Nick Saban’s Thursday night radio show, the Alabama coach said Girardi — his longtime friend — will be attending the Alabama-LSU game next weekend:

When informed that Girardi wouldn’t be back as the Yankees’ manager next season, Saban complimented his friend’s work this year, as the young New York squad wasn’t even expected to make the playoffs this year, let alone the ALCS:
Saban was informed on his radio show of Girardi’s departure
“This was a rebuilding year. I think they exceeded expectations in every way”

Girardi is sure to see an intense matchup between the No. 1 Crimson Tide and the No. 23 Tigers.
And, who knows? Maybe he’ll end up as an analyst for Saban’s staff before the year is over.
