Nick Saban wrapped up Sunday’s joint press conference with Jim Harbaugh by addressing the major topic of the college football season.

That topic, of course, included a sign-stealing investigation directed at Harbaugh’s Michigan program. The head coach would eventually serve a 3-game suspension handed down by the Big Ten, and UM analyst Connor Stalions would resign as a result of the investigation.

When asked about the investigation alongside Harbaugh, Saban cited the integrity of the game as being of utmost importance. However, he also says Alabama has had every chance to prepare for the Rose Bowl matchup as needed.

“Integrity in the game I think is really, really important. Our team has had every opportunity to prepare for this game just like they have every other game,” said Saban. “I think that especially when you’re a no-huddle team, you’ve got to adapt and adjust how you communicate with the QB.”

Saban continued to campaign for an NFL style of in-helmet communications in college football. In the meantime, he says the focus of the Crimson Tide is on adapting and avoiding putting their players at a disadvantage.

“Hopefully one day we’ll get to the NFL system when you can just talk to the guy in his helmet. I think that would be a lot better,” Saban admitted. “But for now, we just have to adapt how we communicate with the QB and change it up and try and not put our players at a disadvantage in any way.”
