Vanderbilt pitcher pays Tim Corbin the ultimate sign of respect: 'He's the GOAT, he's like Saban'
Tim Corbin just led Vanderbilt to another College World Series Championship, marking the second time the Commodore coach has led his program to college baseball’s ultimate goal.
In the immediate aftermath of Vanderbilt’s Game 3 win in the deciding game of the series over Michigan, Commodore pitcher Kumar Rocker was asked to share his thoughts on his coach.
According to Rocker, there’s no doubt Corbin is the best in the nation. In fact, he went so far as to call Corbin the “Saban” of college baseball. When it comes to college coaching, there is no higher praise than that.

I don’t think he is the GOAT, yet, but he seems to be the best today.
You have got to give him his due.. He has Vandy at the top in the baseball world .
He definitely is the best in today’s game. I believe Saban is the best college coach of all time while at Bama. He was good at LSU but Les Miles had the same amount of championships and a better win percentage. But building Bama and winning multiple championships since he got there is like Corbin building Vandy. Corbs probably has to win another championship to be compared to Saban. I don’t know what is harder, going through a 12 game season, conference championship game, playoff game and championship or a 50+ game season, 4-5 game SEC tournament, 3-4 game Regional, 2-3 game Super Regional and 4-5 games in Omaha. It’s hard to win championships no matter what.
I do believe it is harder to win in baseball because of the pitching situation. The pitcher is like the QB, but you have to have so many good ones to have a shot. In football, you only need one good qb as long as he can stay healthy. Then again, finding that one good one can be really tough.
