Paul Finebaum doesn’t foresee Alabama getting into the College Football Playoff field this year.

Of course, that didn’t stop Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban from lobbying for a spot in the field of 4. He even appeared on FOX during halftime of the Big Ten Championship Game to make his case.

Let’s just say Finebaum wasn’t a fan of seeing Saban do that. The SEC Network host appeared on SportsCenter on Sunday morning and ripped the Alabama legend:

“While Nick Saban has some interesting arguments, they are not winning arguments,” Finebaum said. “His arguments and his campaign are as inconsistent as his football team was this year. They just simply don’t fly, and as far as being favored in every game, that’s great. Nick Saban’s always favored. He’s only been the underdog I think once in his 15 years. Does that mean Nick Saban should have 15 national championships at Alabama instead of 6? That’s not how this is done, and that’s why Nick Saban is going to be disappointed in a couple of hours.”

Finebaum has Georgia, Michigan, TCU and Ohio State making up his Playoff field, as do many analysts and fans around the country.

Will that indeed be the field? We’ll have to see on Sunday at noon Eastern time when the final top 25 CFP rankings are released on ESPN.
