Rece Davis has been the host of College GameDay since 2015.

During that time, the show has become more popular than ever. Analysts have come and gone throughout the years, but perhaps no arrival to the show has been more highly anticipated than Nick Saban.

The legendary coach retired after the 2023 season and quickly joined the GameDay crew. Saban has taken to the role nicely, and Davis recently complimented the legend.

“He’s all in. Constantly learning, always wanting to be great and be perfect,” Davis said of Saban. “Not one time has he come across in such a way that you know, he’s like ‘Hey, look at my 7 championships and everybody listen to me.'”

Saban is on the show with Davis, Pat McAfee, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, and Lee Corso, and the crew seems to have great chemistry.

“He’s fit in great and everybody’s just had a blast working with him,” Davis explained.

The show has been around since 1987 and has been a staple of Saturday mornings for millions of people. From the classic headgear segment to the celebrity guest pickers, GameDay has always been a huge draw for football fans.

GameDay is certainly a new world for Saban. The coach spent the last 17 years as the coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide, winning 6 national titles in the process. Saban ended his coaching career with the 6th-most wins among college football coaches.
