Report: Alabama assistant coach turns down offer to join Dave Aranda's Baylor staff
It appears an Alabama assistant coach has turned down an offer for a bigger role at a Big 12 program.
AL.com’s Matt Zenitz is reporting, per sources, that Alabama cornerbacks coach Karl Scott has turned down an offer to join Dave Aranda’s Baylor staff. Zenitz tweeted that it “sounds like” Scott had the chance to take on more responsibility as a co-coordinator with the Bears. Aranda already named Ron Roberts as Baylor’s defensive coordinator, though it is becoming more and more common to see teams employ both a full-time coordinator as well as a “co-coordinator.”
Scott joined the Alabama staff in 2018 after previously serving as the secondary coach at Texas Tech for two seasons.
Sources: Alabama cornerbacks coach Karl Scott has decided to not take a job at Baylor.
Sounds like he would have been co-defensive coordinator in addition to working with the secondary.
