On Thursday afternoon, news broke that Alabama RB B.J. Emmons and DB Aaron Robinson were planning to transfer from the program.

Though Robinson’s future is still up in the air, Emmons has reportedly decided to enroll at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas, according to the Associated Press.

The former 4-star recruit was one of the prized commits in Alabama’s 2016 recruiting class, but immediately found himself buried behind Damien Harris, Bo Scarbrough and Josh Jacobs on the depth chart.

Those three are all back in Tuscaloosa this fall, as is 2017 No. 1 RB Najee Harris, so Emmons felt like he needed a new opportunity.

He’ll likely only be at Hutchinson this fall before heading to a new Division I program in time for the 2018 season.

Emmons received 35 carries and ran for 173 yards and a touchdown in 2016. He also caught two passes for 20 yards while appearing in six games for the Crimson Tide.
