Rolando McClain is in the news again, and once again, it’s for all the wrong reasons.

The former Alabama linebacker was reportedly arrested Friday in Hartselle, Ala., on firearm and drug charges, according to Anna Beahm of Decatur Daily. After being pulled over for his tinted windows, officers noted the smell of marijuana from McClain’s car. Upon a search of the vehicle, an unlicensed firearm and marijuana were found. According to the report, McClain was charged with second-degree possession, carrying a firearm without a permit and a misdemeanor equipment violation.

Formerly a member of the Dallas Cowboys, McClain missed all of the 2016 season after being suspended by the NFL. McClain was originally only suspended for the first 10 games of the season, however, he missed a drug test, which counts the same as a fail by NFL rules. Due to the nature of his suspension, McCleain did not get paid by the Cowboys last season. At this time, the team has yet to make a decision regarding his future with the club.

This incident would be McClain’s fourth arrest since 2011. McClain was the No. 8 overall selection by Oakland in the 2010 NFL Draft. Three years after his selection, the Raiders cut McClain following multiple arrests. Despite his troubled past, Baltimore and Dallas both have given him chances to rehabilitate his image following his release from the Raiders following the 2012 season.
