Many people expect sophomore QB Tua Tagovailoa to win the Alabama starting job, but over in Orlando, one Hawaiian quarterback has already locked down a starting job.

UCF QB McKenzie Milton also hails from Hawaii, and on Tuesday’s episode of “The Jim Rome Show,” he was asked what Tagovailoa was like as a youth quarterback.

Below, you can hear him talk about Tagovailoa throwing 50-yard bombs at the age of 10:

“Man, I just remember Tua being 10 or 11 years old and throwing the ball 50 yards and wishing I could throw the football like that,” Milton said. “He was my quarterback and I was his running back. Then he ended up going to a team closer to where he lived, so our team needed a quarterback and that was how I started playing quarterback.”

Both Tagovailoa and Milton have risen to the top of the college game, with Milton leading UCF to an undefeated season in 2017 and Tagovailoa coming in at halftime to lead the Crimson Tide to a national championship. It’s safe to say they’ll continue keeping tabs on each other this fall.
