The Alabama Crimson Tide have had a run of great quarterbacks in recent years. They’ve gone from Jalen Hurts to Tua Tagovailoa to Mac Jones, all of whom could potentially be starting quarterbacks in the NFL this fall.

Will Bryce Young be the next great Alabama quarterback? He figures to be the Week 1 starter for the Tide this year.

On Tuesday, Tagovailoa spoke about Young’s game. He said he doesn’t think he and Young are very similar as quarterbacks, adding that Young is the superior runner (via AL.com):

“I wouldn’t say I see similarities between his game and my game,” Tagovailoa said. “I think he’s really instinctive. He can extend plays really well and he has a really good arm and he’s really talented, but I wasn’t a runner like him. He can, he can run.”

Young has a lot to live up to when it comes to his predecessors. He was a 5-star high school player, though, and showed flashes of brilliance in limited action last season.

Will he lead the Tide to another great season? We’ll find out starting this fall. Tagovailoa will be watching, too, it seems.
