According to longtime ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper Jr., Tua Tagovailoa is moving up the draft board.

Tagovailoa may not yet be healthy enough to work out for NFL teams after suffering his hip injury in mid-November, during Alabama’s most recent trip to Mississippi State, but that hasn’t stopped Kiper from rising the former Alabama signal-caller in his latest mock draft.

The former Alabama quarterback is currently in Indianapolis for the 2020 NFL Combine and while he may not be participating in any of the drills at the event, he has been analyzed by NFL doctors to evaluate the status of his rehab following his most recent surgery and the status of his longterm health.

Based on the information the doctors found, all medical exams at the combine took place on Monday, Kiper has released his updated mock draft.

Interestingly, Kiper has not only moved Tagovailoa into the top 3, but he’s picked the Lions to draft the former Alabama quarterback. Picking Detroit as the franchise that picks Tagovailoa is interesting considering Matthew Stafford is entrenched as the franchise’s starting quarterback and is locked up to a contract with the Lions for the 2020 season.

Here’s a look at Kiper’s current top 10 selections, as shared by ESPN:
