ESPN college football analyst Greg McElroy appeared on “The Paul Finebaum Show,” to talk about what he’s seen and heard from spring practice at his alma mater, Alabama.

McElroy said he’s impressed with how offensive coordinator Brian Daboll has already fit in with the rest of the staff and developed relationships at UA. It was another newcomer, however, who has truly caught McElroy’s eye: Najee Harris.

Paul Finebaum asked what McElroy has seen and heard so far about the highly coveted former 5-star running back recruit.

“I did get a chance to see him, Paul, and he looks like he’s 28 years old,” McElroy said. “He is physically mature, well-built. By all accounts, he has had a tremendous spring.”

McElroy noted that Harris has gotten a lot of work with the first-team offense at a time when Bo Scarbrough is limited due to injury and the coaches know what they have in Damien Harris and Josh Jacobs.

“He looks the part. He’s a big, physical bruising runner,” McElroy said. “Though we haven’t seen him in action, I imagine if he plays the way he looks, he’s bound for big, incredible things here in Tuscaloosa where we’ve seen so many big backs in years past.”
