WATCH: Alabama runs absolutely horrific fake FG with title game on the line

Alabama K Joseph Bulovas has already missed an extra point in Monday night’s College Football Playoff title game, so when he lined up for a long field-goal attempt on Alabama’s first possession of the second half, no one was buying it.

Clemson was ready for a fake, and that’s what they got, with backup QB/holder Mac Jones running and not reaching the first-down line.

As you can see in the video below, this fake never stood a chance, as Clemson wasn’t fooled one bit:

If you’re going to run a fake there, why not just keep the offense on the field and call a play? It would have had a better chance than that play.

Whatever the case, the Tide blew a crucial opportunity to put points on the board. They still trail by 15 points midway through the third quarter.
