ESPN’s College GameDay ran a segment on star Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa on Saturday morning, and it was a good segment overall, but there was a weird moment.

During the interview, Tagovailoa basically admits to reporter Tom Rinaldi that he got hit with a belt for throwing interceptions while he was growing up.

Yes, punishment with a belt was common for kids of a certain generation, but punishing a child for throwing interceptions seems a bit much even by those already outdated belt-wielding standards.

Thankfully, Tagovailoa’s days of being punished by his father are probably over.
