Darin Turner, a 4-star wide receiver and Arkansas’ top-rated recruit in the 2020 class, plans to reopen his recruitment. He announced this plan, stating he wants “to explore other options” via Twitter on Wednesday morning.

The 4-star prospect also cited the firing of coach Chad Morris as a reason for him seeking other schools again.

Standing at 6-foot-2 and 206 pounds, Turner is the No. 6 prospect in the state of Tennessee for the 2020 class according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He is also a Top 40 wide receiver and Top 200 player overall in the class.

Turner originally committed to Arkansas on Aug. 30. Before his verbal, he had reportedly received offers from LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Clemson and several other notable Power 5 schools.

Losing Turner is a major blow to Arkansas’ 2020 class no matter how it’s sliced. With Turner, 247Sports ranked the Razorbacks’ next recruiting class as last in the SEC and 97th overall in the FBS. Without him, Arkansas now only has six commits, and all of them are 3-star recruits.
