The Arkansas Razorbacks are losing some depth along their defensive line on Tuesday, as a talented defender is being forced to give up football.

Per a tweet from redshirt junior DL Briston Guidry, he won’t be able to play anymore for the Hogs upon advice from his doctors.

In Guidry’s tweet, he cites seven knee surgeries as the biggest reasons for his decision to retire from the game he loves:

It’s always sad to see a player’s career come to an early end due to injuries, but Guidry will always be a Razorback.

In 19 career games, he recorded 37 tackles, 2.5 sacks and three fumble recoveries, two of which went for touchdowns.
