Arkansas was busy on the recruiting trail on Saturday and picked up a pair of commitments from in-state recruits.

One of them was running back James Jointer of Little Rock, Arkansas (Parkview Magnet), who picked the Razorbacks over nearly 30 offers from around the country. Jointer is a 3-star recruit and the No. 9 player in the state, according to the 247Sports Composite, along with being the No. 57-ranked running back in the Class of 2022. He is 6-feet and 205 pounds. The other commitment came from 4-star offensive lineman Andrew Chamblee.

“It was love at first sight,” Jointer said, per Hogville.net via Fox 16. “They came in and knew who I was. They stayed with me throughout the whole visit. I would say love at first sight. They recruited me the hardest and made it really hard for me to leave home.”

Jointer last month announced a top 8 list, which included Arizona State, Florida State, Michigan State, Tennessee, Utah, Purdue and Missouri. Jointer has been called an “elite running back” by Parkview coach Brad Bolding.

“I totally agree, but I try to stay as humble as possible,” Jointer said. “I leave that up to the people to say what they think I am or not. I agree with coach Bolding I am an elite back. I’m an athlete. I could play wide receiver or any position on the field. That’s one thing the colleges will get out of me.”
