As the 2018 season approaches, the Arkansas Razorbacks are in the unenviable position of having to trim their scholarship players down to the maximum of 85.

However, they got a little bit closer on Saturday, as coach Chad Morris confirmed that LB Josh Paul was no longer with the program.

Per 247Sports, Paul, who redshirted last year, was not listed on the spring roster and Morris confirmed his absence:

Linebacker Josh Paul is no longer on Arkansas’ football team, head coach Chad Morris confirmed Saturday.

Even with Paul leaving, the Hogs still have 89 scholarship players, and will have to trim at least four more before July 1.

Paul becomes the fifth player to leave the program this offseason, and he’ll likely have some more company before all is said and done.
