Arkansas has reached into Texas to land Duncanville (Texas) Class of 2022 linebacker Jordan Crook.

Crook, 6 foot and 225 pounder, announced his commitment on Saturday while on an unofficial visit to Fayetteville. Crook, a 3-star prospect according the 247Sports Composite rankings, originally committed to Oklahoma State but backed off that pledge following his official visit in Fayetteville in June. Along with offers from Arkansas and OSU, he had a reported 27 offers overall.

He’s rated the No. 57 rated linebacker in the country, and No. 82 player in the state of Texas. He is the 17th commitment for the Razorbacks in the Class of 2022. He was recruited by Michael Scherer.

“Honestly I chose Arkansas because the coaches, the environment, the people in Arkansas,” Crook told Pig Trail Nation. “The relationship I’ve got with Coach (Michael) Scherer is something I didn’t have with the other coaches. That’s ultimately the reason I chose Arkansas. The ability to play in the SEC.”

It was a notable pickup for the Razorbacks as their 2022 class went from No. 21 to No. 17 in the nation. The Hogs also pass Missouri to claim the No. 6 spot in the SEC.
