Braylen Russell has withdrawn from the transfer portal — again.
The Arkansas running back originally entered on Dec. 10 but ultimately withdrew his name with the intent of staying in Fayetteville. That decision didn’t stick because on Sunday, he had re-entered the portal.
Russell then took a visit to Ole Miss on Friday. But on Saturday, he exited the portal once more, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. A former 4-star in-state recruit, Russell saw immediate playing time with the Razorbacks in 2024, taking 47 carries for 304 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
The Razorbacks have seen some attrition in their RB room in the offseason. Lead rusher Ja’Quinden Jackson, a transfer from Utah, declared for the NFL Draft after posting 790 yards and 15 touchdowns. Rashod Dubinion, who totaled 335 yards and 2 touchdowns, entered the portal after 3 seasons with the program. Outside of Russell, Arkansas’ returning scholarship running backs are Rodney Hill and Tyrell Reed; Cameron Settles and Markeylin Batton are set to arrive out of the 2025 recruiting class while Mike Washington is an incoming transfer from New Mexico State.
The Razorbacks face Texas Tech in the Liberty Bowl on Dec. 27. Arkansas finished 6-6 in 2024.
