The Arkansas Razorbacks are off to a great start in 2021, going 3-0 against Rice, Texas and Georgia Southern.

Now, though, with SEC play getting underway this week in Arlington against Texas A&M, we’ll really learn a lot about Sam Pittman’s squad.

So, should we be buying the Hogs in 2021? ESPN analyst David Pollack doesn’t think so. In a segment on “College Football Live” this week, Pollack said he thinks there’s no way Arkansas gets to 9 wins this year:

“I’m giving Arkansas (wins against) Arkansas Pine Bluff and Missouri,” Pollack said. “They’re 5-0, alright kids play along … listen to this — Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Auburn, LSU, (Texas) A&M. I need 4 of those to get to 9? No way. If they beat LSU, that’s a heck of a season. If they give Ole Miss a scare with a rebuilt defense, I don’t see it. By the way, again, this is positive for them going in the right direction with Sam Pittman, but ain’t no way in heck they’re getting to 9.”

Arkansas has a solid defense and some playmakers on offense, so pulling off an upset or 2 isn’t out of the question. However, we’ll have to see how the Hogs fare in Saturday’s rivalry vs. the Aggies to get a good picture on what Arkansas will be like this SEC campaign.
