New Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz isn’t wasting any time fueling a rivalry.

During his National Signing Day press conference on Wednesday, Drinkwitz appeared to call out Arkansas with a comment he made regarding how the 2020 recruiting cycle played out.

“A school south of us kept seeming to recruit every player we offered,” Drinkwitz told the media.

That doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, considering Arkansas has added former Missouri head coach Barry Odom, as well as former Tigers assistants Brad Davis and Sam Carter, to Sam Pittman’s new Razorbacks staff.

There were several 2020 recruits who decommitted from Missouri following Odom’s firing and then later committed to Arkansas, including 3-star tackle Jalen St. John, who signed with the Razorbacks on Wednesday.

In the past, there hasn’t been much spark in the Missouri-Arkansas rivalry. Perhaps these comments from Drinkwitz will be the beginning of it moving to the next level.

The Tigers and Razorbacks are set to play on Nov. 28 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
