Chad Morris and his Arkansas staff continue to win big on the recruiting trail with the latest victory coming from Mansfield, Texas as the Razorbacks just landed the commitment of defensive back Jalen Catalon.

Catalon announced his commitment during a ceremony at his Mansfield Legacy High School.

Rated as the No. 25 safety prospect in the nation and the No. 303 overall recruit in the country by 247Sports Composite Rankings, Catalon becomes the ninth four-star prospect either committed or signed to play for Arkansas in the 2019 recruiting class. His pledge gives the Razorbacks recruiting class seven commitments to go along with the other 21 players that have already signed with the program.

Catalon lost the majority of his senior season due to injury but has been named a district MVP twice in his career, once following his junior season and the other following his sophomore season at Mansfield Legacy.

Of the 28-member Arkansas recruiting class, only four prospects rank higher than Catalon. The Manfield native could also play baseball in Fayetteville once he arrives on The Hill. Catalon now joins two of his former Mansfield Legacy High School teammates in Fayetteville as Taurean Carter and Enoch Jackson have already signed with Arkansas during the early signing period.

With Catalon joining the 2019 Arkansas recruiting class, the Razorbacks jump up two spots in the 2019 team recruiting rankings and are now ranked No. 20 nationally.
