KJ Jefferson is expected to enter the transfer portal, according to a report from 247Sports’ Chris Hummer.

Jefferson has spent the past 5 seasons in Arkansas, but still has 1 season of eligibility remaining due to his redshirt season in 2019 and the 2020 Covid-19 exemption year.

The portal officially opens on Dec. 4:

Jefferson struggled some at Arkansas this season after having solid campaigns in 2021 and 2022 with Kendal Briles as OC. Across his career he’s thrown for 7,923 yards with 67 touchdowns.

This season Jefferson totaled 2,107 yards with 19 touchdowns with 8 interceptions and his completion percentage dropped from 68% to 64%.

Jefferson is not the first SEC quarterback to announce intentions to enter the transfer portal. Vanderbilt’s AJ Swann, Texas A&M’s Max Johnson and Mississippi State’s Will Rogers all did so earlier this week.

Jefferson posted this on his Instagram story shortly after Hummer’s report. So, for now, it’s wait and see.
