Arkansas football has undergone an impressive turnaround under Sam Pittman. The Razorbacks went 0-8 in SEC play in 2019. In Pittman’s first year, 2020, the Hogs won 3 SEC games in the abbreviated regular season’s all-conference slate. Last season, Pittman’s squad took a big step forward, going 9-4 overall, including wins over Texas, Texas A&M, LSU and Penn State. Quarterback KJ Jefferson says for the 2022 season to be a success, the Razorbacks need to post a better record.

Getting to double-digit victories is the goal for 2022, Jefferson told reporters at SEC Media Days.

“Just getting over that hump,” Jefferson said, per 247Sports. “Try to maintain, getting a 10-game winning season and getting over that hump from 9 games. Taking that next step going forward. Our team goal is being able to get over that hump and take the next step, try to get a 10- or 11-win season.”

The campaign for double digits begins on Sept. 3 when Arkansas hosts Cincinnati. The Hogs’ 2022 schedule also includes Liberty, South Carolina, Missouri and the usual SEC West slate.
