Report: Arkansas working on deal to bring former Texas A&M DC John Chavis to Fayetteville
The Arkansas Razorbacks are still without a defensive coordinator under new head coach Chad Morris, but that could be changing in the very near future.
That’s because a former SEC defensive coordinator is reportedly interested in the job and the Hogs have a mutual interest.
According to Arkansas radio host Bo Mattingly, the Razorbacks are reportedly working on a contract with former Texas A&M DC John Chavis. Mattingly said no deal is done just yet, but things are trending that way:
Sounds like Arkansas is working on a deal to make John Chavis their DC. Not a done deal but definitely headed that direction.

If Chavis does end up in Fayetteville, it would continue his tour around the SEC, as he’s already served as the defensive coordinator for Tennessee, LSU and Texas A&M.
Again, nothing is done just yet, but it does sound like the Razorbacks are circling in on making a big hire for Morris’s new staff.
