Rocket Sanders has missed the last 2 games as the Arkansas running back deals with an ongoing injury.
Sanders has been out since sustaining a left knee injury in Arkansas’ 56-13 season-opening victory against Western Carolina. According to multiple reports, including Mason Choate, Sanders did not make the trip to Baton Rouge and will miss another game.
Sanders is one of the best running backs in the SEC, and showed signs of progress this week in practice, coach Sam Pittman said in the middle of the week.
“He ran well yesterday and is progressing faster than what I thought he might,” Pittman said Wednesday. “But I don’t know whether he’ll be able to play or not.”
The junior collected 42 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns in Week 1. Last season, Sanders amassed 1,443 yards and 7 touchdowns last season, which gave him first-team All-SEC honors. That production was good enough to be fourth-most by a Razorback all time and ranked second in the SEC and 13th nationally.
