Since quarterback Feleipe Franks missed last week’s game against Missouri with a rib injury, there’s been an open question about Arkansas’ quarterback plan this week against Alabama.

On the SEC coaches teleconference, coach Sam Pittman offered the latest update.

“Feleipe has practiced, we are still waiting to see how he’s feeling,” Pittman said. “He’s not 100 percent, we will continue to practice, give him time to heal up and make a game-time decision. There is potential to play both quarterbacks, assuming Feleipe can play.”

Franks was replaced by K.J. Jefferson, threw a touchdown pass to Mike Woods to cut the Missouri lead to one point, then converted a 2-point conversion after a pass went through the hands of Missouri linebacker Jamal Brooks, then into the arms of Woods.

Against Missouri, Jefferson completed 18 of 33 passes for 274 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for another touchdown for Arkansas (3-6).

After the game, Pittman said, “Today was a day where you had to score almost every time you got it,” Pittman said. “We certainly didn’t do that. But for our offensive line, for our offense, that has to be a confidence builder.”

Arkansas will play host to Alabama on Saturday in an 11 a.m. local time kickoff on ESPN.
