Auburn basketball will be down a starter on Saturday at Georgia.

The Tigers announced that senior guard Zep Jasper will miss the game due to a non-COVID illness.

A Charleston transfer, Jasper is a 5th-year senior. This season, his first with the Tigers, he’s averaging 5 points, 2.4 assists, 1.3 rebounds and 0.7 steals per game.

Jasper is clearly enjoying his time on The Plains. Jasper told ESPN 106.7 The Drive this week that he plans to play for Auburn next year.

“I will be back next year,” Jasper said, per AL.com. “For the people who have been asking, I will be back at Auburn next year for my COVID year.”

The No. 1-ranked Tigers are 21-1 on the year and 9-0 in SEC play. They take on UGA Saturday in Athens. Tipoff is set for noon CT/1 p.m. ET, airing on the SEC Network.
