Auburn backup QB Sean White was dismissed from the team on Monday morning following an arrest for public intoxication early Sunday morning.

Shortly after news of White’s dismissal broke, Auburn coach Gus Malzahn released a statement addressing the decision to kick White off the team.

Per a school release, Malzahn said White has made poor decisions that have led to his dismissal from the team:

“Sean White is no longer a part of our football program at Auburn. He has made poor decisions that are not in the best interest of our program, and more importantly, himself. We appreciate his time at Auburn and wish him nothing but the best.”

White lost the starting job to Baylor transfer Jarrett Stidham this season and was also suspended for the first two games for unspecified reasons.

It’s unclear what White will do now, but the Tigers are going to move on from the quarterback who led them to the Sugar Bowl last season.
