Auburn is building for a great atmosphere on Saturday when Penn State comes to The Plains.

Now on Wednesday morning, the program released new orange facemasks set to be used for the Week 3 game. It breathed life into the possibility that Auburn would also wear orange jerseys, something players have lobbied for in recent days, and dating back to last season.

It’s the first-ever visit to Jordan-Hare by a Big Ten team, and Derick Hall and Owen Pappoe have been among the players who discussed it with reporters this week. Both are in favor of orange jerseys, and Pappoe said he’s heard there was a uniform surprise set for this season, but he wasn’t sure which game it would be. Though he’s also acknowledged that Auburn is traditional, and doesn’t typically step out of its usual uniform setup.

This is also fitting since Auburn played during a White Out at Penn State last season, and Penn State coach James Franklin has tried to prepare his team for a road atmosphere in the SEC.
