An ESPN camera caught a heated exchange on the Auburn sideline on Saturday between Auburn QB Bo Nix and WR Seth Williams during the loss to South Carolina.

Nix had thrown two interceptions, and Williams was in a tough battle with South Carolina DB Jaycee Horn. Nix missed a few open receivers, including Williams on a third-quarter drive, and the frustration appeared eveident on the sidelines. Offensive coordinator Chad Morris stepped in to try to settle Nix down, and Nix continued to show his frustration.

After the game, WR Eli Stove tried to shed some light on the situation.

“There’s still a good connection with each other,” Stove said. “I guess, things are going on. They’re good. People want to win. It’s a competition.”

“People want to win. It’s competition. It happens. Seth’s trying to tell Bo something about what the DBs are doing, and Bo is trying to tell him what he saw. They love each other. They just want to win.”

Before Auburn and Nix were ultimately stopped short in the closing seconds, he rallied the Tigers to have a shot at thend.

“He still wanted to compete,” Stove said. “He didn’t go to the sideline and pout and all that stuff … He still wanted just to get everything done the right way.”

Williams finished with four catches for 74 yards, which led Auburn in yards receiving, including a 44-yard catch.
