Bo Nix is starting to heat up for the Denver Broncos. As a result, he’s turning the Offensive Rookie of the Year race on its head.

In Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, Nix was particularly brilliant and flawless. He completed 28-of-33 passes — an 85% completion percentage — for 307 yards and 4 touchdowns.

It was a career-high performance across the board for Nix with new bests in passing yards, completion percentage, and touchdowns. The 145 passer rating is also a career-high and Nix’s 4th game with a rating of 115+.

Nix also became just the 2nd rookie quarterback in NFL history with 300+ passing yards, 4+ touchdowns and a 140+ passer rating in a single game. Houston Texans QB CJ Stroud was the other from a game in 2023.

Sunday’s outing also has to feel especially sweet for Nix. Leading up to the game, Atlanta Falcons safety Jessie Bates took aim at Nix for his time spent in college.

“We’ve been watching him (Nix) in college for the last 5 or 6 years, 10 years, however long it’s been,” said Bates. “He’s not a rookie quarterback, it seems like he’s a graduate student almost.”

In the end, Nix had the last laugh as the Broncos rolled to a 38-6 beatdown of the Falcons.
