Bryan Harsin fell to 9-9 overall through his first 18 games as Auburn’s coach on Saturday night as his Tigers took a big lead before losing to LSU, 21-17.
Many are speculating that this game could spell the end of Harsin’s tenure on The Plains, but as of Sunday morning, no moves had been made.
After the game on Saturday night, Harsin was asked about his job security. Here’s what he had to say (via AL.com):
โThatโs my job, every day, is to show up and make sure that Iโm prepared and that we get this football team prepared,โ Harsin said. โThat doesnโt change, whatsoever, and I told the team that. Thatโs always been how Iโve approached each and every day of every job Iโve had. Thatโll be no different. Tomorrow we have things weโve got to get better at, and win or lose, youโre always going to find ways to improve as a football team; you have to. Thatโs really what it comes down to. Thatโs how Iโll approach each and every day, and our players know that, and everybody on our staff knows that, and thatโs always been the mentality that we have.โ
Auburn plays at No. 1 Georgia next weekend and at No. 14 (for now) Ole Miss the following week. If Harsin keeps his job through those 2 weeks, the Oct. 22 open date will be something to watch.
Is the end coming for Auburn’s embattled coach?
