Bryan Harsin understands that TJ Finley played against South Carolina last season as the LSU quarterback, but he doesn’t put any stock in how that may impact this week’s game as Finley will be the starting quarterback for Auburn against the Gamecocks.

Finley was 17-for-21 passing for 265 yards with 2 touchdowns and an interception in a 52-24 LSU win.

“I think that has zero to do with this particular game,” Harsin said Wednesday on the SEC coaches media teleconference. “… The only thing that’s helped TJ is that he’s had a chance to play in some games this year and has prepared as the starter every single week. … None of that has been addressed, what he did last year. It’s all about now and what we have to do this week to get him ready to play.”

Finley is starting in place of Bo Nix, who had ankle surgery on Monday from injury suffered on Saturday, and is out for the season.
