Auburn is 2-0 to start the season but everyone will get a better idea of just how good the Tigers are when they take on No. 22 Penn State at home Saturday afternoon.

It’s a big game, and Auburn is doing all it can to promote a big-time atmosphere, including a requested “orange-out” from the crowd and some special helmets.

Earlier this week, some Auburn players also suggested they’d like to see the Tigers break out orange jerseys for the first time in quite a while.

During the weekly SEC coaches teleconference Wednesday, Auburn coach Bryan Harsin was asked about the idea of an alternative jersey for Saturday’s game.

“Yeah, I might like it,” Harsin said. “I’ve seen the orange jerseys from the past. That’s something Auburn’s done, so it’s not too far-fetched. It’s something people would be excited about, especially your younger crowd. … You’re asking a guy who came from a program with probably 25 different uniform combinations. I like the tradition (at Auburn), I really do.”

Harsin was also asked Wednesday about PSU senior quarterback Sean Clifford, who’s passed for 495 yards, 5 touchdowns, and just 1 interception so far this season.

“I think Sean’s really good,” Harsin said. “I thought he was last year. This is another year. You see the maturity. … They’re doing a few new things. … I’m not sure we’ve seen every single thing they’re capable of doing. He’s a good player, he makes good decisions. … He’s continued to impress me the games I’ve seen him in.”

The Tigers are the Nittany Lions will kick off at 3:30 p.m. (ET) on Saturday. The game will be televised by CBS.
