Eric Singleton, a standout wide receiver out of Georgia Tech, made his transfer destination official Monday morning. The sophomore receiver will play for Hugh Freeze and Auburn next season.
That’s a great addition and a good target for incoming transfer Jackson Arnold alongside Cam Coleman and Malcolm Simmons. Singleton is set to enter his 3rd year in college and is hunting his 3rd straight 700+ yard season. He totaled 714 receiving yards with 6 touchdowns as a freshman and kept it consistent in 2024 with 754 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns.
And keep in mind, Singleton played for a Georgia Tech squad known for its rushing attack, not its efficiency through the air.
A great trait of Singleton’s is his consistency against strong opponents. He had 86 receiving yards and a touchdown against Georgia, 6 receptions for 59 yards against Notre Dame and 5 receptions for 88 yards against Louisville. He’s also been used as a rusher on end-arounds and could be used in a similar spot with the Tigers.
Obviously, Auburn had to beat out some major players for Singleton, who has so far been one of the most sought-after transfers in the portal (ranked No. 2 per On3 Sports). The Tigers had to beat out a push from Georgia, notably.
