Calvin Ashley was an elite 5-star offensive lineman in the 2017 recruiting class, and the 247Sports composite rankings had him rated as the No. 26 overall prospect in the country.

However, in two seasons with the Auburn Tigers, he didn’t see much of the field. As a true freshman in 2017, he redshirted. Then, this past fall, he started only one game.

He recently entered the NCAA transfer portal, and on Monday, he announced via Twitter that he’d be transferring to Florida Atlantic University:

Ashley will now play for coach Lane Kiffin and the Owls, who had a bit of a down year in 2018 after Kiffin’s squad won a conference title in 2017.

Will Ashley find more playing time in Boca Raton? He should at least get an opportunity to earn a starting job this fall.
