A fractured scapula suffered against Arkansas two weeks ago has knocked Auburn running back Kamryn Pettyway out for an extended period of time, coach Gus Malzahn announced on Tuesday.

The coach said the injury shouldn’t require surgery, but it was diagnosed during Auburn’s bye week on Friday.

That means Auburn will play without Pettway at Texas A&M at noon Eastern on Saturday on ESPN.

Pettway, who led the SEC in rushing yards per game last season, has battled several injuries this season and has missed three games. He was also limited in several other games he’s played.

Pettway has rushed for 305 yards and six touchdowns. Otherwise, Auburn appears pretty healthy this week.
