JT Thor officially has one foot out the door at Auburn but that doesn’t mean he won’t be returning for a second season on The Plains.

The freshman big man from Alaska announced on Tuesday that he has declared for the 2021 NBA Draft but won’t be hiring an agent at this time, which gives him the option of returning for a second season at Auburn.

“I would like to announce that I will be entering the 2021 NBA Draft with the option to return to school. As many of you know, playing in the NBA has always been my dream and I feel that my time is now. This will provide me the opportunity to continue doing what I love while also taking care of my family. My dream has never been so close, and I look forward to this next chapter with confidence and determination.”

Thor appeared in 27 games for Auburn last season and averaged 9.4 points and five rebounds per game. He signed with Auburn ranked as a four-star prospect and a top 50 overall prospect in the nation.
